This is an abandoned building in Sumpter, which I assume to be the previous gas station. I don't usually do any kind of photo manipulation, but in this case the photo looked kind of bad without black & white and sepia. (Taken in Sumpter, Oregon)
Well, you asked why this one has gone unnoticed, and I'll do my best to guess at why.
The cepia effect fits this picture perfectly and adds a really nice effect to it. It looks old just like the building.
However, the composition of this picture is lacking. The building is in focus, and that's good, but it has an extremely busy background. Also, there is nothing that catches the eye when one first looks at this picture, and the words that one usually searches for probably don't pick up abandoned gas stations. I have a few pictures that have odd subjects, and they generally go unnoticed as well.
